This past weekend, February 29 to March 1, 2020, T.E.S.T. Team 303 competed at the Hatboro-Horsham FMA District Event in Horsham, PA. This Week 1 event was their first competition of the season, after they had spent two months constructing a robot for the 2020 game called; Infinite Recharge.
Despite a slow start, Team 303 was able to finish the qualification round with a ranking of 16th out of 36 teams. With the help of their alliance partners Team 708, Hatters Robotics, and Team 1168, Malvern Robotics, they made a strong display in the quarterfinals against a number of other alliances. Team 303 also walked away with the Engineering Inspiration Award due to their continued efforts to increase the presence of FIRST and interest in STEAM around their school district and community. Winning this prestigious award has qualified the business team automatically to participate in the district championships at Lehigh University in April.
Filled with delicious food, energetic music, and pleasant memories, the Hatboro-Horsham event was fun for all students involved. After the breathtaking competition at Horsham, the team is optimistic and cheerful heading into the Mt. Olive event next weekend and are striving to make an impact there as well, by overcoming their challenges and continuing to showcase their robot.
