On March 22nd – 24th, The T.E.S.T. Team 303 competed at Greater Pittsburgh Regional in California, PA winning the competition and taking home the Entrepreneurship award. The 2018 game is called FIRST PowerUp. To earn points and win, teams collect boxes, called power cubes, to place into the compartment of the switch or scale to gain points over time. Teams can gain additional points by having all robots climb the tower at the end or by using abilities called power ups to gain an advantage over the opponent. After advancing to the elimination rounds, the team had a very successful weekend. Team 303 won the event after their hard work and dedication.
As alliance captains, Team 303 chose Team 4027 and Team 6032 to compete with for the elimination matches. After their final match against Team 4145, Team 5472, and Team 337, Team 303 and their alliance was able to come out on top, winning the competition.
Team 303 also won the Entrepreneurship award. Sponsored by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, the Entrepreneurship Award celebrates the entrepreneurial spirit by recognizing a team that has developed the framework for a comprehensive business plan to scope, manage, and achieve team objectives.
